So @playriftbound has been hard to find so to help the community I’m doing a giveaway of the Champion decks! You can enter here, Instagram, and TikTok for 3x the chances to win. Instructions in the video.
Follow + Notifications, I plan on doing tons more giveaways this year!
@thecupismine 25-8 in scrims or on ladder? Because if opponents are likely to misplay severely against renekton and neeko due to how rare they are. I would bet over 50% of masters players forget/have never seen renekton + curse.
@Haven_LoR Tossing increases odds of predicting champs. Hitting reksai consistently is what takes lurk from mid to competitive. However, I will admit that with the latest pyke nerf it’s lost some value. Only other 1 drop I’d consider though is treasure seeker but its not in rotation.
@RebiLOR Assume 3 cards in deck, 2 lurk and 1 non-lurk. If you predict now 100% chance to lurk but 50% to lurk next round. If you gamble this round 66% chance to lurk this tound but 100% when you predict next round
Image 3: When your opponent has an empty board, it can be tempting to open attack, but you can actually gain more damage by playing the snapjaw. If opponent doesnt have fast speed kill, your snapjaw gets a free hit and you develop another attacker. Ppl miss this play ALL the time
Image 2: PYKE! Its tempting but based on opponents deck and your hand you need to realize when you can end the game early swarming. Taking snapjaw instead gives much better odds of winning. Play to your hands strengths.
The power of evens lurk with dredgers. More 1 drops increase odds of early game hands. Dredgers allows me to save baccai for attack turns. Even token allows me to predict before snapjaw on 3. Very important to know what to predict on each turn. Reksai/pyke not always the best
@CaptSarahRed Ok i saw this today and was curious and the early neeko is actually broken. I made my own list and i only now went back to check your list. Very cool idea. Eye of the storm is really good draw and extra damage.
Also, i dont even think these cards or others like it are that far off balance but i still dislike the underlying design. Well-designed = more fun to play against and more rewarding to win with. These are the finishers we should push to be meta. More fun to watch on stream also
Vollibear is a well designed late game. Reasonable on play value, support cards to cheat early, but has at least 1 turn delay on game ending overwhelm effect and power is concentrated on a single card.
Warden and cobra are not imo. Too much on play, too spread out, too cheap.
Warden and cobra both have counterplays, but theyre pre-play and take a lot of effort. I personally dont believe that sub-10 mana cards should be game ending on the spot. Newly released CHAMPION vollibear does not end the game when dropped. Why do these followers get to?
If your lurk winrate is heavily influenced by starting token, you’re playing a 1.5 year old boomer list. I would need 10 hands to count the # of games my opponent heimer emoted me dropping dredgers on turn 1 only to lose as they take 22 damage on turn 4.
