RECRUITING➡️ Camps vs Showcases

IMO — I get kids recruited by producing in games.

More important than camps or showcases is running the recruiting process the right way and targeting schools that match your skill level.

Most kids don’t get recruited from camps — especially when they go to camps above their level. Camps help pay assistant coaches’ salaries, not necessarily get you offers.

At tournaments, if you’re on the right team, you’re in front of 20–100+ college coaches every weekend. That’s where real recruiting happens.

Our system: each uncommitted player is expected to bring 1–2 coaches per game. Now there are 20+ coaches behind the backstop. Sally has a great game — suddenly every school there is interested. The kids help each other get recruited.

We always hear, “What if we’re not on the main complex?”
It doesn’t matter. I have teams rarely on the main fields still pulling 20+ coaches. Why? Because they’re working the process.

We go to camps after a coach shows interest — not to get discovered.

If your process doesn’t look like this… you may not be getting the right advice — or be on the right team.
