I know everybody wants to blame Darkchild for that album (The people who have an issue), but Epic did that too. They wanted to take her POP. I HONESTLY didn’t think I would make the album because the songs I submitted were deemed as not where she’s going.. I was told “Been there done that.. She’s gonna be the black Celine Dion” and I looked at her A&R & said.. “That and those records you played ain’t it. Why the heck should she be a black Celine when she’s Brandy?” (While my manager looked at me like 👀🤯, then cracked up) I was VERY vocal around that time (also young asf, so I didn’t know to stfu😂 I thought when asking for opinions you be honest and constructive…😭) I said what I felt from the heart w/ passion. The records he played me wasn’t released though. I knew I had to come different on that album, which I prayed about it and God gave me the concept literally in a dream for A Capella (Something’s Missing). So I always give Rodney such respect, I also think it’s one of the strongest vocal albums by her. It was a great album for what they wanted. Truthfully

@lamardiyonce At the time "Full Moon" did receive a lot mixed to negative reviews from the critics. She changed her stance once the album developed a cult following and became critically acclamed by her peers and of course the fans.
