@ogzigzilla I'd say the endsinger trilogy by jay kristoff. mix of sci-fi and fantasy but also surprisingly thought provoking. World building in it's p good too
"I am a Jew... We did not die. We still exist. We live on unseen." Best line in this book, bc surviving is the best form of revenge. History is full of attempts to destroy the Jewish people. They've ultimately ended in failure bc were still here #SF409
"A periwinkle tattoo. A citizen. Good." This line makes me think about the yellow badges that Jews were forced to wear in Nazi Germany, and also how colours denoted one's status in the camps. #SF409
@Maria99831572 It's existed in various forms throughout history, from the yellow Stars of David worn by Jews in Nazi Germany to the pass laws of Apartheid South Africa.
Ink has a v Joseph Conrad-esque feel to it. Vourvoulias paints a picture that has come to reflect today, just like Conrad did with Heart of Darkness and The Secret Agent. #SF409
note to self: trying to re-read the various short stories we've had whilst sleep deprived will not have provoke some magnificent breakthrough. it only leaves an enby even more confused than before #sf409
