👀 The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Mindanao caused parts of the seabed to rise by as much as 2 metres and the coastline has reportedly moved out by around 200 metres.
The sudden uplift has exposed coral reefs, seagrass and marine habitats, leaving sea life stranded and causing damage to the underwater ecosystem. Officials found exposed coral and dead marine animals along affected areas.
It’s incredible to think about the force needed to physically lift the seabed out of the ocean like this.

Yamtuan WAJIB jadi Pengerusi. Tak wujud pun kuasa untuk kelompok ahli DKU memandai-mandai buat atau panggil persidangan sendiri kat luar.
Penjelasan panjang lebar, ada di bawah. Tak tahu kenapa tak boleh buat thread, so, sis reply myself ajalah.
This rainy Sunday afternon I learnt about debt numbers in Malaysia 🇲🇾
Went down a rabbit hole after reading about Japanese firms now paying off employees' student loans.
Made me ask: what does the average indebted Malaysian actually owe?
Turns out our debt problem looks nothing like Japan or America's.
Student loans aren't crushing us.
A Proton and a terrace house are.
Combined, they eat 40 to 50% of a typical Malaysian's income before life even starts.
Some things to ponder about:
1. Developers pushing 40-year "two-generation" mortgages.
Your kids inherit the debt.
Standard mortgage tenure is already 30 years. Max is 35.
Some banks now offer 40 years for under-30s.
Sounds like a bail out for developers.
2. Households earning under RM3,000/month carry debt up to 7x their annual income.
That's not a ratio that ends well.
3. The bankruptcy age group has shifted from 25-34 to 35-44.
An entire generation aged INTO their debt problems rather than out of them.
39% of all bankruptcies are now in the 35-44 bracket.
4. 9-year car loans are now "normalised" in Malaysia.
We're financing depreciating assets for nearly a decade.
It's a big reason car debt is the second-largest cause of bankruptcy (22%).
5. 47.5% of bankruptcies come from personal loan defaults.
Not houses. Not cars.
Unsecured consumer debt is what actually breaks people.
6. The biggest shift nobody's talking about:
Personal loan volume grew from RM762 million in 2007 to RM8.82 billion by January 2025.
That's 11x in under two decades.
Bank Negara says personal loans are for "home renovation and weddings."
Surveys say the top reason is emergencies and debt consolidation.
People are borrowing to pay off older borrowing.
7. Over 53,000 Malaysians under 30 are already in serious debt.
Cumulative RM1.9 billion.
Roughly RM35,800 each, on incomes that likely don't clear RM4,000/month.
The middle-class starter pack in Malaysia isn't a degree and a career ladder.
It's a car loan, a home loan, and a personal loan stacked on top of both.
Let me explain what this means so that you understand better.
.
Sometimes tiny cells in our stomach get very stubborn and turn into bad guys called cancer. They grow way too fast and don't listen to the body's rules.
.
But you see, these smart scientists in Korea didn't want to fight them with big scary bombs and bazookas like old medicines do. Instead they sat the cells on a wooden bench and said "Look here you stubborn cells, why don't you just remember who you really are and be good again?
.
So they made a pretend computer twin of our belly cells. Just like a magic video game version. (something like that sha) so they played around in the game to find the three bossy switches that were making the cells stay stubborn.
.
.
Those three bossy switches have funny names. They are MYB, HDAC2, and FOXA2.
Fantastic 3 lool
.
The scientists turned those three mean switches Off. Poof.
And just like that guess what? The stubborn cancer cells were like "Ohhh… I remember now!
.
Then they calmed down, grew up properly, and turned back into nice, normal belly helper cells. No more bad growing.
They then tried this in Mice, and the poor mice got better. The bad lumps got smaller because the cells stopped being the bullies they were.
It's like telling your barking Dog at home to shusss and calm down. And it actually calms down.
.
.
This isn't ready for humans yet, as it's still developing. But it's going to help out someday. And well, a lot of people are gonna be wayyyy happier.
.
.
.
Kudos to the scientists once again and I'm super happy about this development and the positive impact it's going to have on affected people 💪🏾💪🏾

Signs you should quit your job (even without back up job offer).
You keep telling yourself: "At least I have a job"
But sometimes staying costs more than leaving.
Here are the signs you shouldn’t ignore 👇
1) Sunday night anxiety is constant. If every Sunday comes with dread, insomnia or physical stress, that’s not normal.
One bad week is fine. Months of anxiety isn’t. Your mental health > any paycheck.
2) You’ve stopped growing.
- No new skills
- No challenges
- No development
Ask yourself: "Am I more valuable than I was a year ago?"
(If the answer is no, you’re stagnating)
3) Your health is declining. Chronic stress, burnout, sleep issues, headaches.
Your body is warning you. No job is worth long-term damage.
4) You’re underpaid (and they won’t fix it). You’ve proven your value. Market rate is higher.
They keep saying "next year". That’s not patience, that’s exploitation.
5) Toxic culture is normalised.
- Politics
- Favoritism
- No boundaries
Your ideas get shut down. Credit goes elsewhere. Toxic environments rarely change.
6) Your values don’t align. Unethical practices. Work you’re not proud of.
A mission you don’t believe in. You’ll never feel fulfilled working against your values.
7) Zero work-life balance.
- 60+ hour weeks
- Messages at midnight
- Guilt for taking leave
Burnout isn’t ambition. Hustle culture is a lie.
8) Your manager is the problem.
- Micromanagement
- Public criticism
- No support
- No growth
People don’t quit jobs, they quit managers.
9) You’re always 'next in line'. Years of strong performance. Still passed over. No clear progression.
They’re relying on you, not developing you.
10) The company is sinking.
- Layoffs
- Delayed pay
- Cancelled projects
Constant leadership changes. Don’t go down with the ship.
When leaving without another job makes sense:
✅ Your mental or physical health is suffering
✅ The environment is abusive or unethical
✅ Staying hurts your long-term career
✅ You have 3-6 months of savings
A short gap won’t ruin your resume. Years of burnout will.
The truth: Staying in a bad job out of fear is like staying in a toxic relationship out of comfort.
You deserve better. Life is too short to be miserable 40+ hours a week.
Know when to walk away. Protect your health. Protect your future.
Korang doa²kan la ye. Saya tengah mencari² peluang untuk balik Malaysia ni. Banyak usaha dah buat, tapi belum dapat yang sesuai & sustainable lagi.
