Brill days birding in Wales with some top company. The Western Reef Heron at Caernarfon is a really smart bird. Other highlights were Chough and Woodchat Shrike at South Stack and Black Guillemots in Holyhead Harbour. #phonescoped
On patch, I managed only 91 species on 52 checklists. In a usual year, I tend to submit between 70-100. Still, 3 new species got on the patchlist with 2 flyover Ring-necked parakeets on 18th Sept, and the flood in May enticed 2 Shelduck down on the 2nd and a Redshank on the 7th.

Today's cancelled Birdwatching and Wildlife Walk with Gary Hobson has now been moved to Friday 22nd November at 9am, meeting outside of the centre as usual. We hope to see you then!
Lovely day for a bit of birding at Padley and surrounding areas. Plenty of Pied fly but couldn't find a single Spotted in the 3 hours I was there. A couple of Redstarts and a Tree pipit the other highlights.
