A student movement active in 32 Universities across East Africa fighting for a Fossil Free Planet through civil disobedience. We envision a critical mass.
Africa is not for sale.
Our rivers are not pipelines.
Our communities are not sacrifice zones.
For too long, powerful fossil fuel companies have entered our land with promises of “development” while leaving behind displacement, pollution, broken livelihoods, and climate suffering.
Projects like EACOP are not symbols of progress; they are symbols of exploitation.
We refuse to stay silent while our future is traded for oil profits.
This is our soil.
Our people.
Our heritage.
And we will defend it.
During this Global Week of Action, we rise with one voice across Africa to demand climate justice and kick polluters off our continent.
The time for resistance is now.
Fossil fuel companies like @TotalEnergies often tout development, yet decades of oil extraction in Global South countries have not lifted communities out of poverty. The reality is pollution, loss of livelihoods, environmental degradation, and climate change. #KickPollutersOut!
Revolutionary greetings to our Dear Kyambogo University fraternity. As you go the polls today, bear in mind that you have the power and the opportunity to make your voices heard, not just at your campus but across the nation. It is the duty of your generation to put your best foot forward. If I were you, I would seize the moment and vote for comrade Okello to lead the charge. Let’s do this together.

Dozens of anti-EACOP activists have been arrested today during a peaceful march to @KCBGroupBank, protesting its decision to fund the pipeline. The protest came just days after we published an article on flooding caused by ongoing EACOP construction in Kyotera.
Marching with a petition is NOT a crime. But 11 youth activists are on trial for doing just that opposing @KCBGroup's support for the destructive #EACOP project. We say: Drop the charges. Defend our rights.

Climate financing denial leads to climate injustices. Governments at national and international level , private sectors invest in activities such as afforestation, reforestation, renewable energy sources that mitigate climate change as opposed to fossil fuels #Climatejustice
@kcbbankug lured 11 peaceful #StopEACOP activists into their basement, where they were ambushed and arrested on false charges. Their crime? Attempting to deliver a letter about the bank's involvement in the destructive #EACOP pipeline. #FreeTheKCB11#StopEACOP
At the 2025 Global Parliamentary Forum co-organized by the World Bank Group & International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC-USA i questioned IMF over the inequity in the Fragile & Conflict-Affected States strategy where countries like DRC get less support.#SpringMeetings2025
Quite disturbing that @KCBUganda chose an unnecessary violent suppression over dialogue. What is it about this controversial #EACOP project that even reputable banks like @KCBGroup would rather detain peaceful activists in their basement? Shame on you @KCBUganda#StopEACOP
The Ugandan musician turned opposition leader Bobi Wine says his ideas are still relevant to Uganda’s youth, as he vows to stand again against Yoweri Museveni in the 2026 presidential elections, in a @BBCAfrica exclusive interview.
BREAKING 🚨: Equinor is re-rebranding back to Statoil after slashing their renewables targets and doubling down on oil and gas.
This is NOT a company serious about the energy transition.

This is a monumental victory in the fight for a liveable future for all.
#StopEACOP protests continue, as Ugandan activists demand the @GovUganda to halt the deadly #EACOP Project. We are only saying that the government should only invest in renewables!.
🚨🚨BREAKING NEWS!🚨🚨 More of the fearless student and youth #StopEACOP activists have been brutally arrested and beaten while peacefully marching to Parliament to deliver a petition demanding an end to fossil fuel subsidies.

BREAKING NEWS! Today, our fearless members have been brutally arrested and beaten while peacefully marching to Parliament to deliver a petition demanding an end to fossil fuel subsidies. This savage crackdown on our right to protest only highlights the urgent need to dismantle the subsidies fueling environmental destruction.
🤔 What if communities could take charge of their own energy? 💡 The Sekhukhune Combined Mining Affected Communities #SCMAC are leading the way with a bold vision: socially owned renewable energy—a decentralised system where people, not corporations, control energy production. It’s ambitious but possible! #EnergyJustice
