@BIGEMMYLFC Every other manager had way less to work with in terms of overall squad quality, and they all had some kind of playing style. Also I don’t remember a season where virtually every game was a poor performance.
@BIGEMMYLFC On one entire season, I’d say last season. Not based on league position, but based on the fact we had world class players, half of which were title winners, and they just looked lost! Yes circumstances played their part, but we broke many wrong records.
@Andynay71378182@l4pablo Head coach. He is responsible for the team tactics, training, lineups, motivation, player development, but will be limited responsibility on transfers, negotiations, staffing etc. But from a fan perspective we can think of them as essentially the same.
@Mobyhaque1 Gakpo apparently wants to leave.
We’re going to have to spend significantly more then we get, but we should be able to do it since I believe we’re in a healthy position financially.
@exfootballfan Arsenal won a league from set pieces in a shit league season, survived a champions league final with the lowest possession stats in history only to go out on penalties! They have 0 European cups and are 6 league tittle away from Liverpool! Liverpool has a bigger fanbase!
@TheKopHQ I do wonder though, are there legal ramifications, if clubs like Real Madrid are deliberately running consistent back channel negotiations with players years in advance to avoid transfer fees. Surely it’s easy enough to prove. 🤷♂️
@TheKopHQ No I don’t think just sell him, but we need to sit down with him and find out what he wants, see if it aligns with us, or there’s room to negotiate, set a deadline, and then either have a deal, or a sale.
@RousingTheKop He never intended to stay. All the charade was to try look good with supporters. These guys plan this with Real Madrid months possibly over a year before they leave, and because Madrid doesn’t pay a transfer fee, agents and players can get bigger salaries and signing fees.
@LynnBraben And you know why, because players know they can earn big signing on fees or bigger salaries if the purchasing club doesn’t have to pay a transfer fee. It’s similar to a scam, and we’re the ones getting scammed!
@LynnBraben Do you honestly just want players to wind down contracts because we’re soft and let it happen. These guys are massive cash assets and football clubs are businesses. No we need to be firm. We’ve lost 100’s of millions, in free transfers in the last few years.
