@kronfolsom You said that the guy who killed a teacher in the East Bay is in jail for an "accident". How is it an "accident" if he is being prosecuted? #crashnotaccident
Thank you @katsiegal , Austin Milford-Rosales, and the rest of the @sfcta Community Advisory Committee for voting unanimously against regional transit funding being used for highway projects, especially highway widenings of any kind (including interchanges). Great work!
Great NYT article (no paywall) on Colorado's shift from highway widening projects to transit and active transportation. Hopefully @CaltransHQ , @PeninsulaMoves , and @sfcta can do the same.

Michigan, the auto capital of the planet, is cancelling highway widenings. Why then is the "green" Bay Area so gung ho on widening highways and encouraging driving vs. transit???

Thank you, @CaliforniaIPL , for opposing highway widenings in the Bay Area! California Interfaith Power & Light inspires and mobilizes individuals and communities of faith and conscience to take boldย and justย action on climate change.

Congratulations to Peter Belden on winning @sfbike Bike Champion of the Year. Peter has been instrumental in our efforts to prevent @sfcta's proposed widening of Highway 280 in SF. Keep up the great work, Peter!!!
Congrats to our 2024 Bike Champion, SF Bike member Peter Belden! Read his bike-story and get inspired to ride for Bike to Wherever Day on May 16 ๐

Another widening in San Mateo County. Please leave a comment on the SMDJ Facebook page asking that the $200+M be spend on filling potholes and improving public transport, not encouraging more people to drive: https://t.co/7js8DKF3SN
No jail time for the driver who mowed down a 4yo girl in the crosswalk at 4th & King.
Mean while, @sfcta has proposed widening 280, which flows into this crosswalk, increasing car traffic significantly, making it even more dangerous for pedestrians:

@cafedujord Mean while, @sfcta has proposed widening Interstate 280, which flows into this crosswalk, increasing car traffic significantly, making it even more dangerous for pedestrians:

@MayUseFullLane And then @sfcta will propose widening Interstate 280, which flows into this crosswalk, increasing car traffic significantly, making it even more dangerous for pedestrians:

@bellachu10 @Scott_Wiener Meanwhile, @SFCTA is proposing widening Interstate 280 right next to this intersection. This would result in an enormous increase in the number of cars flowing through this crosswalk and increase the danger to pedestrians.

And yet some folks want to waste loads more taxpayer dollars by widening Highway 101 and Interstate 280. Which will just lead to more congestion and pollution. Sign the petition saying NO widening 101 and Interstate 280

@planetacterra has opposed the widenings.
Acterra is a San Francisco Bay Area 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Palo Alto that brings people together to create local solutions for a healthy planet. https://t.co/aZrmf3kDF0
Thanks, @TransbayC , for joining the fight to @StopWidening 101 and 280 on the Peninsula.
Please sign our petition to decision makers: https://t.co/gFGOb17uiA
Widening Highway 101 and 280 will increase traffic, potholes, air pollution, and climate change. Tell San Mateo and San Francisco County Transportation Leaders to stop spending taxpayer money on highway widening! https://t.co/ZTtiu3T1Lu
@sfcta@Caltrain Caltrain electrification is an excellent way to get more people to take the train and leave the car at home. @sfcta should not undo this by widening 280, encouraging more people to drive instead of taking @Caltrain . Why create more competition for @caltrain and @bart?
