the church should be a place where it’s okay not to be okay. Sunday is not a time to showcase a perfect life, it’s a time to show up with our baggage, burdens, and biggest hurts.
Some people are fighting silent battles with a smile on their face. Depression isn’t always tears, sometimes it’s saying “I’m okay. I’m good. Nothing’s wrong.” Always speak life into your friends.
christianity is not a scripture in your bio, cute journal, or a cross necklace. it’s dying to your flesh daily to pick up your cross and follow Jesus. it’s saying no to the world and yes to the King when everything around you fights against it. christianity isn’t cute, it’s hard.
I don’t know who needs this tonight, but:
God’s plan for your life exceeds every one of your own plans you have for yourself. He knows what He’s doing. It might hurt right now, but there’s always a purpose in our pain. He promises to work all things for our good & HIS glory.
