Folks:
Yes, a great tip is 10-20% on a service. You are all right...but that was not my point.

That is not what we (bartenders/servers are saying). We tip more, we recognize and respect the work. Do you want to know why? I will tell you.

That bartender/server had to do come in early after serving you the night before. They have to wipe the bar down, walk the room, wipe the tables down. Fix the chairs, line the chairs up at that bar. Get the ice. Make sure the glasses are clean. Wipe the chairs down.

Set the bar up, fill the three sinks, add the chemicals that keep your ass from germs. Make sure their glasses are stocked, their juices/olives/fruit is cut clean ready to go.
Get the straws filled, get the napkins filled, get coasters filled. Count the drawer and open the fucking door.

So YOUR ASS can whine about TIPPING.

Those in the business get it. This isn’t an argument.

TIP! YOUR:
servers
bartenders
hair dressers
barbers
baristas
Sandwich makers
Gas attendants
Drivers
Delivery folks

DO NOT TIP:
Owners
Pick up orders (unless you sit in the restaurant and eat)
