Babe Ruth Ball (a thread). Told this story before, but have doubled followers since then! A fav piece from my collection is literally worth $0 in the hobby, but is priceless to me. About 35 yrs ago my grandmother said, "Hey JD, you like baseball, here's a Babe Ruth homerun ball."
@MrKdub Great idea. My name is Storm, people call me Storm. PC Rickey & Mickey, Vintage & PreWar NY Yankees & Highlanders. Several 50s-60s NYY playing days runs (Elston, Bobby, Thurman, Boyer, Kubek, etc), IOWA connection autos, Storm Davis autos, PreWar T&F cards, bobbles & McFarlanes.
@baseball_cards I had that Chipper card autographed TTM when I was a kid. I used to send cards to the clubhouse with a handwritten letter. I was probably 10-12 years old and collected a bunch of fun autos that way.

@Pittsburgh1Pete I cried, laughed, and sweated. Cried at my amazing daughter’s baptism, laughed with my kids celebrating my beautiful wife for Mother’s Day. And it was a bit chilly, but got the 10-mile run in.
@notgaetti Catcher’s fault. Not really that bizarre, just a bonehead play by an MLB catcher. That being said, 3B certainly could’ve helped the situation by yelling TAG TAG TAG !!
@yanxchick Absolutely agree. Well done. I suppose one could quibble over 1939 vs 41 or 42 as break between PreWar / PostWar (Vintage). But I won’t.
I’ve also seen PreWar start at 1910 with a couple extra “eras” as below:
Trade Card Era 1860s-1880
Tobacco Card Era 1880-1910
