Respiratory Physios are helping to save lives all over the world. For those of you who’d like to know more, here are some of the things a respiratory physio does on a #COVIDー19#CPAP unit:
Yesterday our longest stay Covid-19 patient left ICU. Amarjit was admitted to ICU on 7 April, and exactly one month later got the rousing send-off he deserved by our staff while on a live video to his family so they could enjoy his moment of celebration.

Sat our first ventilated Covid-19 patient out in a chair today on ITU. So amazing to see them sat out, looking around the room, smiling. So proud of everyone involved. It’s great to start seeing some real rehab happening! @HillingdonNHSFT@Eoin5Walsh
COVID ward update: Now have 2 patients on my caseload who were diagnosed with post COVID Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Imagine, you've recovered from COVID then you develop something like that? This virus is a monstor. Rehab services will be at at full capacity for the next year.
Working with the dream physio team yesterday on ITU! So great to start to see some progress and rehab happening. Sitting people on the edge of the bed and getting the green light to start speaking valve trials #thhtherapies@helenaklinge@HelenJo86058324@HillingdonNHSFT
Sat our first two ventilated COVID pts on the edge of the bed today. Both more responsive afterwards and the small smile from one of the pts was worth it's weight in gold. Great work @StormeBiggs and team #thhtherapies#rehablegend
I work with the best therapy team ever!! Thank you to my amazing med/surg team for such a thoughtful gift after a very busy, challenging few weeks so proud of them for all they have achieved #thhtherapies#dreamteam@HillingdonNHSFT
