Cindy and I are saddened by the passing of Gary England—a U.S. Navy veteran and pioneering force in television meteorology. Born and raised in Seiling, Oklahoma, Gary earned international recognition for his groundbreaking innovations in weather technology, including implementing the world’s first commercial Doppler weather radar in 1981 and becoming the first person in history to use it to issue direct warnings to the public. His innovations in advanced warnings undoubtedly saved countless lives across the country. Generations of Oklahomans remember well his winsome, “Let’s check it out” and his celebration each week of “Friday night in the big town.” He was our early warning and our calm in the storm. Cindy and I are praying for his wife, Mary, of 63 years, and all who loved him as they grieve his loss.
@TyAmes93 There’s a multiview button when you bring up the menu at the bottom of the screen. After clicking that, one of the options is “Local networks.” (At least for me!)

Some good friends going through hard times. Over the past month they’ve lost a father to cancer, two vehicles to crashes - and then their home in this past weekends’ tornadoes. Help if you can. https://t.co/v8iqbVdnt1
The charges brought against Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi in Oklahoma for plotting an Election Day terrorist attack on US soil is a stark reminder that our nation continues to face threats from those who hate our freedom and want to do us harm. I’m grateful to the FBI, especially the Oklahoma FBI Field Office, and our local law enforcement agencies for their vigilance and dedication to protect our communities. Their swift action prevented what could have been a devastating attack.
Tawhedi is an Afghan refugee with ties to ISIS. With the escalating conflict in Israel and across the Middle East, we must remain vigilant against terrorism here at home. Oklahomans know well that many of the Afghan refugees in our communities fought side by side with American troops against the terrorism that attacked our nation on 9/11 and destroyed the nation of Afghanistan.
I have been in direct contact with the FBI about this case for a while and I will remain engaged as Tawhedi is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. As a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, I will continue to work closely with Federal prosecutors to ensure we are taking every step necessary to keep Americans safe.

DEL CITY PETITION FALLS SHORT: After Del City leaders say they submitted approximately 5,700 signatures last week in a petition for a grand jury investigation into Oklahoma County Commissioner Myles Davidson, the Oklahoma County Election Board certified 4,180 signatures Tuesday.
The airport trust voted 5-to-0 this morning passing a joint resolution renaming the airport to the "OKC Will Rogers International Airport." The resolution now heads to the city council for consideration.
“Once again we see failure as the result of a frivolous lawsuit attempt,” Davidson said “Don’t put ego before service at the expense of the tax payer.”
