Something I've learned while in law school is about the social construction of crime. I work in a legal clinic on wage theft cases, where employers have "improperly paid" workers by not paying, paying below min wage, withholding overtime, paid sick time, etc. 1/
@UnMech@brennanoonan I would not be surprised to discover that there is a large overlap between those who demand things being built in the USA and those who oppose the infrastructure bills at the federal level.
@dankois@elizhargrave Great coverage of Wingspan, I just object to the way it frames this as a sudden revelatory moment for the board gaming world as if this hasn't already been happening for the past 10-20 years.
Wingspan hasn't been this sudden milestone, but a continuation and this erases that.
@jmaltman @kjrevia In the last year I have been vigorously culling my collection down. I just don't play board games as much and I'd rather focus on the fewer games that bring be real joy and I like bring out over and over.
The side benefit is that they create a much smaller footprint on my house.
@kjrevia One of the things that soured me on the hobby was the constant churn. I do like the idea of excitement from a new game, but it became overwhelming for me.
The pandemic has also hindered my ability to meet others to play as well, so that's a factor.
