My nuclear job used to require 8 hrs shut in a box of a room with 3 others.
One person in particular was a master storyteller.
18 years later, I still remember specific stories about:
Beetles
Macro photography
Fractal math (seriously..)
Learn to be "sticky" with storytelling.
Want to tell great stories?
Tell a lot of okay ones and pay attention.
Which stories get the most questions?
What moments are they paying attention to?
This is editing in real life.
@Tim_Denning Tim you’re really speaking my language lately.
I turned down a $100,000 bonus for this reason exactly.
At the end of the day, I just want complete ownership over my time and my outcomes.
@manastory Yes!
Books, courses, etc. are all great, I LOVE books.
But, great writing is knowledge, thought, time, and action all wrapped up in a nice bundle.
It won't sing until you've lived and breathed it.
Don't be a "writer".
Be an explorer.
Play.
Find that thing you're curious about and chase it until you understand it.
Share what you've discovered.
This is the key to creativity
@FearlessLarsen Depends on which type of intelligence.
Emotional? -> spot empathy
Traditional "intelligence" -> Critical thinking, ability to articulate complex ideas, logic
And there's a 3rd type I can't define.
But some people are great at keeping things simple, wish I was one of them. 😂
@JoshuaShediak 😂🤓
I'm definitely not judging. Teslas are pretty sweet!
I've just learned that, for me,
Impact - #1
Money - #8(ish) 🤷♂️
But it's easier to have priorities like this when you've already set yourself up financially. No doubt about it.
It can be tough out there!
I don't want to get rich from Twitter.
Honestly, I just want to be the dude putting out free resources that actually help people change their lives.
A bit of money would be nice,
but I've always valued impact more than money.
Anyone else like me?
@Alexmathers84 Anyone who thinks they have a personality problem really just has an expression problem.
It's tough to learn to translate the unique bits of yourself to others.
@charliebennett I'm not the only one?
I traded rare pets and trinkets for the longest time.
Had to quit because it was literally a job. 🤣
I did have a LOT of gold though.
The pets market taught me everything I needed to know about stocks and real life collectibles trading.
Helped a ton!
