The third day of Story Catcher, Thursday, June 6th, brings even more great events for our writers! Rilla Askew will be holding a fiction craft session and there will be a publishing panel with the faculty of Story Catcher. Another wonderful day full of amazing opportunities!
The second day of Story Catcher is packed full of wonderful sessions and readings by our featured writers! The day is rounded out in the evening with featured readings from J.C. Hallman and Karen Auvinen. So much good stuff for any writers coming to be a part of Story Catcher!
Tuesday, June 4th, is the first day of Story Catcher! This year the retreat is hosted on the beautiful campus of Western Colorado University. In the evening will be opening remarks and then featured readings! Overall, a wonderful day to start off Story Catcher!
This year’s featured poetry writer is Pam Uschuk! She has authored eight books of poetry and has won several awards for her work including the American Book Award and the Struga Poetry Prize. Please welcome Pam Uschuk!

Please welcome this year’s Story Catcher featured nonfiction writer, J.C. Hallman! Hallman studied creative writing at the University of Pittsburgh. He is the author of eight novels, including collections of short stories, essays, and creative nonfiction. Welcome, J.C. Hallman!
This year, Story Catcher’s featured fiction writer is Rilla Askew! Askew is from Oklahoma and studied creative writing at Brooklyn College. Her work has much to do with place, focusing in on Oklahoma and the surrounding region. Please welcome Rilla Askew!
