In a move many saw coming, ACT decided NOT to do individual section retesting for the 2021-22 school year. In the Spring of 2020, ACT announced that for SY 2020-21, any student who had taken the full ACT would be able to retake just individual sections on national ACT days

This, DESPITE the fact that many colleges are moving to test-optional admission. In most cases, test-optional does not mean test-blind, so the ACT is still important, though it's less dispositive than before.
