Experienced Chief Nurse, Professional Doctorate: the future role of robots in nursing. Working to deliver transformational change in healthcare. Views my own
This Budget post is a really good example of the RCN supporting members as individuals deserving of better recognition and pay across sectors and countries, a clear analysis of the issues and solutions by influencing national politics. Each member gives their authority for the RCN to be their voice. This is why members should vote, each vote is a political act that is easy but so, so important to do. @Dkell999@alisonleary1@SouthEastRCN @EllzSummary @StrachanHall@Jason Warriner1 @samjdonohue@evelyn_prodger @caspertown42 @RuthRGNBrighton@RonkeQuest@FeliciaJCox @CNO_BOBICB @helenayres76 @SheilaSobrany@traceybudding @DeniseChaffer @DionneDaniel5
RCN elections
If you missed the president and vice president hustings -worth watching online. Takes courage to stand and to face exacting questions -well done all. My personal view: what the RCN needs goes beyond activism and representation to strong, wise leadership. Vote well!
RCN elections
Thinking today about privilege and responsibility. The privilege of serving on RCN council must be mirrored by responsibility to serve all members, and the nursing profession. My privilege to nominate Sally - for the South East. Vote today.
If you’ve received one of these please don’t ignore it! Use your vote to choose the President, Deputy President and Council member @theRCN We have amazing candidates they deserve your vote, it won’t cost you a penny.
RCN Governance Election:
Important to vote for those who can both represent members and have the wisdom, experience and vision to lead, challenge and advocate nursing across all health care. Often these elections are close so please use your vote.

A great question. registered nurse is a protected title, nurse isn’t. The public often don’t know the difference in roles, some employers and individuals intentionally mislead patients by implying a person is an RN. There is a tendency to refer to all members of the nursing workforce as nurses. Protecting the title nurse could imply nursing support workers and nursing associates are not valued. I really wanted to make the point that is not the case, as this might not be said enough & the intention of protecting pt safety be misunderstood. The RCN represents the nursing workforce from all four countries there are differences between countries in nursing roles. We must be inclusive, value the work of all the team & distinguish the difference between roles. I apologise for any confusion I created @Ninam41397

@alisonleary1@GeriatricEmt Absolutely, having studied nurses views about robots in nursing we must be absolutely clear that robots can only assist skilled professionals with complicated tasks. Nurses use complex skills and judgement to keep people safe in their safety vigilant role.
RCN South East Council
Saturday is a great day to vote in RCN Elections. Sally Bassett is a great candidate in South East, she takes time to understand front line nurses and is determined that the RCN will better serve its members. Use your vote.
RCN Council
Really important that RCN members vote for regional council representatives and the President, Vice President Elections. I nominated Sally Bassett for South East Council because her wisdom, tenacity and leadership will deliver for all nurses & nursing associates.
