First - I read the whole article before saying what I said and I know where you're coming from

I do agree that cases like these invite us to introspect on issues that are plaguing the society & those we seldom wish to talk about

But I certainly don't agree on putting this case in the basket you tried to

Siya is not someone who didn't have a voice. Not someone who didn't know what she was doing. She's perfect example of criminals who thought they had hatched a perfect plan. It discomforts you or the larger society because we presume that women are always victims of circumstances

They're NOT. Infact it is this very presumption that just so many take advantage of & also get away owing to their gender.

The question we ought to ask is not why Siya couldn't take NO but why so many women are finding it easy to destroy an innocent life rather than taking accountability for decisions they make in life

Behind this murder, there are countless cases where a woman didn't say no, got married & then put plethora of false cases on husband just because he was an easy scapegoat

We deal with such cases everyday. Those men are choked along with their families every single day for no fault

So the real question is - is it time to gauge crimes irrespective of Gender or always find an excuse if a woman commits it
