https://t.co/ETUlZykVhb opening hours and details for 2019.

[Big Pink Elephant @StrandLido]

News flash 📣 no queues at the pool today 😂

[Big Pink Elephant @StrandLido]

FOSP understand that on hot days everyone's wants to enjoy a swim. We are frustrated and disappointed by the approach medway council has taken in managing the demand. The limited opening hours is really adding to the problem.

[Big Pink Elephant @StrandLido]

@EmmieLouX We fear there will be no positive change running the lido until current council officers move on. FOSP only consists of 10 people and they have worn us down with their negative approach.

[Big Pink Elephant @StrandLido]

@EmmieLouX Our petition in 2016 on this very issue was signed by over 5,000 people. It went to scrutiny committee but medway council are determined not to work with FOSP in a positive way. They have trebled the pool hire fee for us to run the evening sessions this year 😕

Wonderful time at the strand today. @MedwaySport Pls think about opening later before we lose this gorgeous weather.

@rachelkemp37 @MedwaySport 🧐🧐🧐🧐 good point. Well made.

[Big Pink Elephant @StrandLido]

Pool open tomorrow Thursday 11th July 11-5pm. USE IT OR LOSE IT.

[Big Pink Elephant @StrandLido]

@rachelkemp37 @MedwaySport We are very disappointed about this as originally we were told to run evening sessions to evidence the need. Now we have, they have asked us to pay £300 a session.

[Big Pink Elephant @StrandLido]

@rachelkemp37 @MedwaySport FOSP have ran evening sessions for 2 years now. The council has unreasonably increased the pool hire amount this year to a cost we just cant cover 😕

[Big Pink Elephant @StrandLido]

I know I was shocked too! Late notice but the pool will actually be OPEN tomorrow (11th July 11am-5pm). 😱
