@TaroTheCerelean 80%? I guess maybe if you’re playing on a 15-year-old laptop with Windows XP or an oddball Linux distro.
Anyway, this is the kind of delusion only a console player would believe

[Strander @StranderSay]

@Raynerdtech Linux:
- A proper scrolling wm
- Nice terminal tools and lots of customization
- A filesystem with instant space-efficient snapshots
Mac:
- A laptop that lasts almost two days on a single charge
- Sleep mode that barely uses battery as well
- Generally amazing hardware quality

[Strander @StranderSay]

@Rinartts This isn’t bad art though, this is a masterpiece

[Strander @StranderSay]

@justinsomuch Oh that kind of AI, I see, yeah, that is useful. I guess we really should stop calling a bunch of completely different things the same name

[Strander @StranderSay]

@Mbounge_ I think the actual reason is that coding is result-driven and art is process-driven. Art is valued based on effort and uniqueness, and code is valued based on how good it works

[Strander @StranderSay]

@yepyoureanidiot @davidclowery I guess it doesn’t sound funny to me exactly because it sounds like trying too hard. It would be funny if it was really low effort or had real effort with same quality. And I don’t get your comment about studio space when you basically just need a laptop

[Strander @StranderSay]

@yepyoureanidiot @davidclowery I’m sorry, but I just can’t understand how this is valuable by any extent. If a friend sent me a recording of him farting melodically I would be less repulsed than if they sent me whatever this is. Who cares how “right” it is if you didn’t put any effort in?

[Strander @StranderSay]

@yepyoureanidiot @davidclowery The thing that makes me sad about this is that it wouldn’t be hard to make this without AI. A generic beat downloaded from the internet badly mixed with out of tune singing into a phone mic would still have infinitely more soul than this, and be way more personal as well

[Strander @StranderSay]

@phasewalk1 Like, how is this even supposed to work? Music grows on me, I enjoy relistening it, making playlists, learning to sing/play it, looking up live recordings, going to shows, finding out stuff about the artist. This isn’t tiktok where all content is single-use throwaway clips

[Strander @StranderSay]

@dreamingtulpa Oh god the audio is hilarious

[Strander @StranderSay]

@upstatefederlst There’s a huge difference between making an extreme effort once for great reward and doing some thing consistently over a long period of time, especially for an ADHD brain

[Strander @StranderSay]

@BananyaTanya @bswagspeare The type of person to hate you for this would find another reason to hate if you weren’t late anyway

[Strander @StranderSay]

@anomalyrambles @bswagspeare Most office jobs I’ve worked no one actually started working till 10, it’s all coffee, small talk, checking emails etc. Of course it’s different for shift-based things, but, at least in my ADHD experience, it’s far easier to be on time when it measurably matters

[Strander @StranderSay]

@axiochrono I’ve had a job on TV where we had to air at 9:00 and I was never late despite my commute being unreliable time-wise. I’ve also had a job at an office where the boss was very pissy about everyone coming in before 9:00, and I would always come at ~9:05 despite my best efforts

[Strander @StranderSay]

@matt503ea5sf9z5 Honestly, general models may just be a bad idea that we’ll laugh at in ~10 years

[Strander @StranderSay]

@OscarA384413 @YevKopiika There’s hundreds of houses that have been struck like that just in Kyiv alone, what’s your point?

[Strander @StranderSay]

@Pribaris Well what would you consider people who go to a foreign country to kill other people for money to be?

[Strander @StranderSay]

@vivrantny Dude, several ballistic missiles struck Kyiv literally two days ago. And drone attacks basically never stop. Just because you haven’t been following this war for a while doesn’t mean this sort of attack is out of the blue
