Ever watched those and thought "Huh, I wonder why they dont just do a flip for extra distance?"
So did New Zealander Tuariki Delamere. He sought to break the long jump record held by Bob Beamon at 8.90 meters.
Delamere put his flip into action at a student tournament in May of 1974, landing an impressive score of 7.70, leaving everyone in attendance utterly shocked that he managed to stick the landing as well as go such an impressive distance.

notorious gang leader William "Red" Snyder, a man who ran one of the most powerful gangs in the prison. Snyder would be stabbed to death by his friend and right-hand-man, Rusty Lassiter, in 1992. After taking over thirty stab wounds, the walls of Cell 20 would be bathed in blood.
