I am not saying there should not be outrage over such evil behavior. However, as Christians. Death is actually only the beginning. Heaven is so much better than this world! For all those not in Christ Jesus. Eternal hell is all they will experience. And it's way worse than they think it is.
@business Pride is an extremely dangerous ideology to humanity. Doing our best and giving our all. Is a response we should have for living in the most blessed time and place in the history of the world.
I lean towards the monergist position.
Ephesians 2:8 NKJV
[8] For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Matthew 10:16 NKJV
[16] “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
Proverbs 3:5-8 NKJV
[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; [6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. [7] Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil. [8] It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.
in short, it enriches the discussion by painting the narrow path as a real athletic contest—demanding, sometimes painful, and requiring our wholehearted engagement—while rooting that engagement in God's preserving grace and Christ's example. It avoids cheap grace (easy believism) on one side and legalistic self-effort on the other, calling believers to "strive" while trusting the Keeper who enables it. This fits well with the thread's focus on the narrow gate's demands without undermining divine sovereignty.
Hebrews 12:4 — “In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood” (ESV) — fits constructively into this discussion on the narrow/difficult path (Matthew 7:14), divine preservation (1 Peter 1:5; Jude 24), and the tension between monergism and synergism.
@greglaurie I hurt my spine many years ago. I thank God for the pain. But it takes all my strength just to make food for myself. Maybe I should be fasting? It's very difficult to be kind and patient.
@JoelOsteen Amen! I lost the love I had at first. I thank God for your words of encouragement. God bless you mightily brothers and sisters. Please pray for me to get my love back.
“Palestine never existed.”
Judge @RoyKAltman has written a bestselling new book called “Israel on Trial” that provides overwhelming evidence that the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea was known as Israel long before the modern conflict.
Thousands of years ago, Israel was inhabited by Jews who spoke Hebrew and worshiped the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
From Egyptian inscriptions and ancient empires to modern genetic research, Altman shows that Israel’s claim to the Land is irrefutable.
