Residents of Kabul appear to be reaching a tipping point as frustration with the Afghan Taliban regime continues to grow. Following the reported crackdown on women and young people in Herat, signs of public discontent are becoming increasingly visible in the capital, with more people openly challenging the authorities despite the risks.
Rather than being driven by outside actors, the unrest is widely portrayed by critics as a homegrown response to worsening economic hardship, restrictive policies, and prolonged political repression. Reports also suggest that some residents are refusing to comply with official directives, while small, decentralized pockets of resistance are beginning to emerge across Kabul.
The regime's swift deployment of additional security forces and tightened control measures has further fueled perceptions that it is concerned about maintaining its hold over the capital amid growing public dissatisfaction.

Pakistan’s Heavy Industries Taxila appears to be testing a 14.5mm remote-controlled weapon station mounted on an armored pickup-based personnel carrier, likely built on a Chinese-origin chassis.
The configuration could provide enhanced firepower against lightly armored vehicles and low-flying unmanned aerial systems, while supporting convoy protection, border security, and mobile battlefield operations.
From an operational perspective, integrating a heavy-caliber RCWS on a relatively light platform reflects growing demand for affordable, rapidly deployable vehicles capable of addressing both ground and aerial threats. Its effectiveness, however, would depend on sensor integration, fire-control capability, stabilization, and protection against modern anti-armor weapons.
