Furthermore, this apparently government generosity is nothing of the sort. These pay rises must come from *existing* departmental budgets. The Treasury isn't 'giving' anyone anything at all. Smoke and mirrors from a government that's made spinning an art.
@STVNews As a nurse we have done our job, staying employed. I am grateful. However, there's no parity. Unemployment is at its highest, many struggling to make ends meet. This cherry picked pay rise fund would be better supporting those with no job/business due to COVID-19.
I don't work as a nurse for the wages. Historically underpaid and undervalued. Last years wage rise was divided over 3 years!...but today's announcement on a wage rise for some key workers in the light of COVID-19 without including nurses is an absolute disgrace.

@rickygervais Afterlife made me laugh, it made me cry..it was beautiful. Thank you @rickygervais for such a tender story of the journey of grief, of life and connection with others ❤
@DrMDSimmons@IPS_Infection Unfortunately the NHS is not the army. IPC face daily battles re appropriate PPE use and understanding transmission based precautions...but are getting into dangerous territory with PPE re-use, and the problem will be breaking these behaviours after this.
Helpful blog: yes, small droplets containing viable #sarscov2 may occasionally be found even when AGPs are not being performed, but epi supports contact / droplet transmission as the primary routes – otherwise R0 would be much higher #covid19 https://t.co/89rbtUBiBC
