Happy New Year! Been a few weeks with the holidays but here to post more shoulder rehab this week. Here is Johnny continuing his training on scapular health! Check it out! Exercise to follow tomorrow! #rehab#strattonspine#Chiropractic
Why you cannot take a cookie cutter approach to rehab. Today’s patient with Johnny had limitations in IR compared to ER of the shoulder from yesterday’s post. Here is today’s pre and post treatment evaluation! The face says it all! #rehab#strattonspine#chiropractic#chiro
Pre and post treatment on a 74 year old patient. Patient was dealing with overhead mobility tightness. Capsular mobilizations were provided to increase flexibility. Myofascial release to the latissimus Doris and Pectorals Major and some corrective exercises to take home. #rehab
As you see at the end of the movement, his right shoulder is closer to his ear due to lack of upward rotation. This is a nightmare for the subacromial space leading to impingement syndrome, bursitis, and possible tendon pathology. #rehab#chiropractic#stratton
Scapular dyskinesis pt. 1. This occurs when there is an imbalance of motor control at the shoulder complex. With upward rotation we don’t want to see medial collapse prior to elevation. This leads to excessive impingement of the shoulder.
Scapular dyskinesis pt. 2
If there is medial collapse prior to elevation, the scapula needs to get more than 60 degrees of upward rotation, which can be challenging with athletic movements. Try this! #rehab#stratton#chiro
As seen in the previous post, ankle tightness could be a major contributor to the stress of the squat movement. Try this out for ankle mobility!

Why movement screening is important. Patient had lower back pain with squats. Orthopedic testing revealed no pathology. This case was not a back issue, but a dysfunctional pattern in the lower extremity.
