Nate and Azusa are "pre-field" missionaries to Japan with ABWE. They are currently in Oregon and are seeking churches and individuals to partner with them.
@TheSCIF I recently was given a provisional ballet in Oregon because though I had registered as a Republican after moving to the State, I found that I had never been registered when I got my mid-term ballet. The county clerk issued a provisional ballet, but eventually it was rejected!
Azusa, Mako, Sho, and I enjoyed the privilege of spending three and a half weeks back at our home area in Japan during February and early March. This video will give you a little peek at the joyful reunion it was for us. The Lord, through the prayers and gifts of many, made it all possible.
2026 has begun with more of the same: Wonderful fellowship around the PNW, safe and productive travels, and new opportunities for each one of us. We praise the Lord for His provision and protection.
Pray for the people of the islands.

Japan has four main islands and a population of over 120 million people. It also has over 400 remote inhabited islands, many of which have no Christian witness. Rebun Island seems to be one of these Islands with little or no Christian witness, which is not surprising in a country that is considered one of the most unreached for the gospel in the modern world.
Rebun Island is the northernmost remote Island in Japan and is about 30 miles off of the large Island of Hokkaido. A bit more than 2,000 people call the island home. Like many small islands in the Japanese archipelago, the people there depend on the sea and tourism for their livelihood.
Please pray for the people of this island, that God would bring true witnesses of the gospel of Christ to the people there and that many hearts would experience the reality of being born again into a living hope.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.... (1 Peter 1:3 -- ESV)
Here is a little ministry update. Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support for the ministry to Japan. We are praising the Lord that committed regular support for the ministry is now at 51%. (Music found at https://t.co/rqKmG5XOnT. Animation made using Xai.)
"The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." (Lamentations 3:22-23)
Here is our "Month in Moment" video chrontage for the month of November. As pre-field missionaries (back) to Japan, we don't usually get a lot of "ministry" moments on video, but we do get a few highlights from the month.
