The Straus Historical Society is a not-for-profit that collects, preserves, researches, and disseminates information relating to the Straus Family (Macy's)
In 1992, Gunter Demnig created the Stolpersteine—small brass “stumbling stones” placed outside victims’ last homes to remember lives lost in the Holocaust. We remember Alice Mathilde Straus Loeb and Jakob Adolf Loeb, honored in Frankfurt in 2025.
