Hello Everyone!

My name is Lark. For those of you who may not know who I am, I’m the soul proprietor of Straylight Studio.

I’m writing to all of you because I’ve been sitting on a decision for months now and today, October 1st, 2024, it has finally come to fruition.

Thank you 1,000 times over to every last one of you that have been supportive of the studio and patient with me as I learned and grew. I’m seriously so very grateful.

I didn’t want to catch up and then go right back to doing the same thing. It didn’t motivate me and frankly just made me want to…stop.

Im ready for a change. I’m ready for a freshen up and a new venture.

But starting in June I finally started to look into my stubborn streak and the actual plausibility of revitalization. After a great deal of reflection and back and forthing, I came to a simple truth that stung a bit but also took a weight from my shoulders.

For the longest time, I fought on under the belief I could bring the studio back and it would be better than ever! Despite not having taken commissions in almost 3 years, I was still convinced I could catch up and revitalize.

Running this little business has been a learning experience and then some. I spent YEARS convinced that I could pull myself up and revive the studio after digging a pretty deep hole overloading myself with commissions and falling into the trap that is ‘I can do EVERYTHING’

Straylight Studio is permanently closed.

I did not make this decision lightly and while I am excited for future things, it’s not without a bit of heartache that I went through with this decision.

We are working slowly towards a full reboot of the studio on all fronts!

⭐️ Is Straylight Studio done?

No. Due to personal and day job reasons, I have been VERY sparse in the studio since basically the beginning of February. The remainder of March is going to remain very hectic, but then I will be back to it!

No.

Part of the reformatting of the studio that I’ve been working on has been coming to the terms that, as much as I want them to be, conventions are not lucrative to the studio.
