One of the interesting things about the "Europoors" discourse is that many Americans online started pushing it after a bunch of Europeans who visited the USA for the World Cup said nice things about America.

Those Europeans liked the ranch dressing, the malls, and the eateries.

Some Americans interpreted that as, "Wow, it looks like their lives back home must be really miserable!"

So they responded to friendliness with toxicity.

Now, my American friends, expressions of appreciation do not mean that people dislike things back home. If someone tells you, "I really like your shirt," it does not automatically imply, "...because my own shirt is crap."
