President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s biographer and advisor, Eddie Cross has revealed that the biography he wrote about Mnangagwa was actually a hagiography.
A hagiography is a book about someone which treats its subject (Mnangagwa) with undue deep respect, it is basically a propaganda book.
Cross said there was a panel of six men who are Mnangagwa’s friends who edited things out from the biography, these things were seen to be unfavourable to Mnangagwa as the sitting president.
Cross said that he was given limits, and that there are things about Mnangagwa that he couldn’t put in the book.
Cross added a new dimension to Mnangagwa’s history about his education, more like a point of departure from the old stories.
He says Mnangagwa got his degree from prison as opposed to the propaganda stories that he got it from the University of Zambia.
