Free agent center Andre Drummond has agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million to sign with the New York Knicks, sources tell ESPN.

Its founder Eric Porter called a customer who ordered 8 pairs of basketball shoes in bulk, only to learn their primary sport was pickleball. This wasn’t a one-off.

Players across the country wanted both ankle support and a locked-in feel. There wasn’t a pickleball-specific shoe that gave them either.

A stack of similar conversations ultimately led to Gabe Tardio’s signature Stria G1 Pro, the company’s first dedicated pickleball model. It stands as one of the few true signature shoes in our sport.

Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond, an investor in and Creative Director for Stria (and a pickleball player himself), praised Tardio’s early accomplishments, comparing him to NBA Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg.
