@talkRADIO @Iromg@InsulateLove Errrm. Don’t think Mike won in that interchange. You can grow trees and you can’t grow concrete. What would be the point in arguing with that?
@ChrisYoules None. I didn’t know them.
I might have thought the death was sad or brutal or a waste of talent.
But it is the death of someone I know, especially a very young person, that really hits me hard.
I’m grieving for one of them just now. And sad for those touched by their loss.
@mrallanmaths Anyway, you asked for suggestions, so I told you what helped for me and many teachers whom I taught this methodology. No one who really tries it ever concluded that it didn’t work. But if it’s not for you, that’s fine too. 😊
@mrallanmaths Oh, over a few lessons everyone is noticed positively, because all students do things right. That’s part of the skill of it. Like making sure everyone gets asked a question in every lesson. Catch them getting it right. Teachers are professionals - it’s what they do.
@mrallanmaths Yes, to begin with, I agree that it’s time consuming. But FAR FAR less so than getting involved in negative discussions with students which derail learning, or calling for backup all the time. And if you do it consistently over months and years you don’t have to think about it.
@mrallanmaths It is 100% not that. Names on board on positive side are up in large numbers before any negative name goes up. That’s why I said you have to set up the system. And it works well and kids respond well to it. I wrote a book about it…
Appalling. I would urge them to complain through their line manager. Sometime soon, all SLTs will realise how utterly vital TAs are and ensure that teachers plan properly WITH them, learning from each others’ skills. https://t.co/aPGtFXRYkq
Introducing the first of our Cowal Open Studio hubs. 7 artists to see at the Hayshed Gallery in Kames, near Tighnabruaich, Argyll. It's a beautiful drive too passed lochs and through hills. Find out more about the artists and its location at https://t.co/zKRMlMKtiM
@efozzer @brassoteach Oh Emma. That’s so shit. Well done you - you’re better than me. At the end of a school day a teacher said to my daughter (7) in front of her younger brother (5) “Hello sweetie! Your brother isn’t as good as you, is he? I do miss you!” I had to be held back…
@brassoteach “You’re like Charles I - stubborn and weak.” I really beat myself up about that one. She was wrong on both counts. And I NEVER demolished a child like she did.
We are short of vets because of the EU misuse of the NI Protocol. Let’s take control of our own internal trade and free the vets to look after sick animals.
