its kind of funny she’s said this because i recently (a week ago) have gotten into burials music and they are the only artist who has scratched the same itch kelela does with her music for me
First details on Mike Flanagan's ‘CARRIE’ series:
• Set in modern day - explores teens relationship with tech
• Will introduce various other characters with their own abilities in each episode
• Will change a lot of the book's key moments - including the events of the prom being different
• Releasing this Fall on Prime Video

also, push the singles!! more than just two weeks, it needs more time to reach the audience. this is also not a diss at all! theres a wide range of artist who have been falling victim to not maximizing their presence even if there’s a lack of budget
i dont think the 3month window is the issue, she (+her label) just hasn’t utilized their time for promoting it efficiently. like after you announce the album, there should be interviews, late night performances, possibly a single or two, billboards. literally all of it counts.
tylas apop rollout is a great example of why i HATE when artists announce an album like 3months in advance.cuz realistically theres rlly not much u can do consistently for 3 MONTHS to build hype/excitement for the album. now its just sitting there w a pre-save link& nothing else+
