@NYC_DOT sends phantom “inspectors” and then sends violations to homeowners on entire blocks, requiring them to replace perfectly good sidewalks. Even their inscrutable citations don’t indicate a problem. Is this kickbacks to contractors?
@1010WINS@PIX11News@WNYC
@NYC_DOT is up to the same old tricks. Someone whom no one sees “inspects” sidewalks, homeowners are sent inscrutable descriptions of “violations” and told to replace entire swaths of good sidewalk. Do y’all offer kickbacks to contractors for this make work? @PIX11News@1010WINS
@FLTOgolfguy@tomfriedman@smerconish It will never happen. The optics are too awful. I don’t have to ask a “few.” I live in a Black neighborhood. They would never forgive Biden for such a move. And if the other party runs a Black P/VP they could either split or not show up at all.
@FLTOgolfguy@tomfriedman@smerconish Weak. Play it forward. He would lose the backbone of Dem voters—Black women plus probably a lot of other women and Black men. It ain’t gonna happen.
@BrianLehrer I read Gerald Friedman’s white paper some years ago giving the math of Gottfried’s bill. The assumptions on utilization were completely unrealistic.
@NYC_DOT I recently received a notice of a violation on the sidewalk in front of my house but the violations are not pointed out on the paper I received or on the pavement itself. They are not obvious to me.
@NYCMayorsOffice can school personnel prevent pedestrians from returning to their homes during a fire drill? If so, what city or state law gives them that authority?
@nyc311 can school personnel conducting a fire drill prevent people on foot from returning to their homes during the drill? If so, what city and/or state law gives them that authority?
@BrianLehrer there are a number of musicians and other workers who come from NJ to work on Bdway shows, a big economic driver. There are very limited transit options for them. Can we have a less dismissive attitude (Garden state pkwy remark).
