On Air Conditioning
When I was a EOD Team Leader in Afghanistan we were running a lot of IEDs. Multiple a day. even in the middle of nowhere our little shacks had AC.
In the middle of the summer ours went out. Not the end of the world, until you remember that I was putting on a bomb suit in the middle of summer with temperatures reaching well over 100 degrees. I was losing so much water in my body that the medics would meet me back at the house after missions and run IVs on me just so that I could keep working.
It just so happens that the infantry Brigade Command Sergeant Major was visiting our tiny combat outpost while I was out on mission. The infantry 1st Sergeant took him to our shack and showed him how hot it was in there.
"this heat is literally killing my EOD guys"
The BDE CSM said he would get it fixed. Sure enough, that night a helicopter landed on the base and three Air Force guys knocked on the door. I thought I was being notified of another IED find. Instead they came in and fixed my AC.
That BDE CSM would go on to become the 16th Sergeant Major of the Army. Over a decade later in 2023, I finally had the chance to thank him.
@Wharrlay@F1 I can ask him, if you want. He is still present in my life and hasn't left or in prison. Or cheated on my mom.
Like I'm sure yours has, if you're asking..

🦁 MAX: "¿Eso significa a toda velocidad justo al lado del auto?. Estoy jodiendo. JE".
COMO LOS MEA JAJAJAJAJAJAJAJAJA 🐐
It’s astonishing to me how many people leverage anything against max but literally ignoring extreme safety issues is just wild.
Yeah he may have slowed by a tenth but he still put in one of the best final sectors of the weekend, we’ve seen people literally pass away for not respecting safety rules.
A similar issue or one lock up into that corner at the speed George was doing could have plowed him straight into Max.
The FIA should be ashamed for allowing that pole lap to stand.
You're never going to believe this
Mr. Popeman, but 30% of the Bible is about wars being blessed by God.
20% is about Jews technically not breaking the rules, and God responding by technically not smiting them.
The other half is about the J-Man.
@AnalyticaCamil1 Do you think a single grunt or SOF bro thinks of fighter or ground attack pilots as “lesser”?
You’ve clearly never met one.
An AC130 crew or A10 pilot can’t buy a single drink if grunts are in the bar.
