Now I've got leeks and wall flowers transplanted and the carrots & parsnips are really growing well it's time to cover the raised beds with @Strulchmulch to retain moisture and inhibit weed growth.

Good morning! Lovely temperature at the moment with a brisk breeze... The long raised veg beds have been watered and they'll be covered with @strulch @Strulchmulch very soon to maintain the moisture.

Trialling @Strulchmulch @strulch Garden Mulch and now the parsnips, beetroot and carrots are actively growing in my raised veg beds they got a good water early this morning and then a good thick layer of the mulch was added to retain moisture and restrict weed germination.

With 11 days to go until our @DevonNGS opening on 4th August we needed to take a bit of a break from weeding so we used more of the pallet wood from our @Strulchmulch delivery to make a bug hotel for the big seating area complete with its own living roof!

@MannGeorgia They're always going to go for young plants that are unprotected. Need to combine lots of methods: sharp mulch ( eggshells, grit) ; watering in the morning if poss; encouraging more frogs; nematode treatment, and if necessary beer traps. @Strulchmulch has saved some of mine
