Another tune that influenced Clapton and the other British invasion guitarists who really invented rock. Before them, American rock was really just 12-bar blues played really fast and loud (Chuck Berry, Elvis.) Those Brits invented what we love as rock!
Freddie King-Hideaway!
@DonnaBowe10 It's not but you can screenshot the part you're working on if you need to. It actually plays along to the actual track if you have the paid version. The free one plays a digital instrument. Very high quality usually.
If you've never played Wildwood Flower, you're missing out on such a fun and easy tune! I've taught this to thousands of people in my 30 years of teaching and it's always a favorite.
I just posted a step by step on my Youtube if you're interested.

@DonnaBowe10 Thank you as always Donna! Yes I love the whole song of course, but ever since I was young this has been my favorite part to play. It's so gentle and flowing.
Blues is American. All the American 50's artists you named played almost exclusively 12 bar blues. I will agree that playing it real fast and loud may have given rock its spark, but the Beatles brought it back to America transformed into the music that inspired all the 60's American artists you named.
Emerson Lake and Palmer had some iconic guitar parts in addition to their signature keyboards. This intro always fakes you out because it starts the same as Roundabout by Yes!
