We ready, we coming. Cops DO NOT belong in schools. Period. Police in our schools present a very real danger to our Black students and the only way to solve that is to remove them completely.

Bridgett, Parent Engagement Institute Organizer w/ @LSNAChicago, was a parent who helped craft the #TrustLearningCare platform for how Chicago should spend the billions from the fed. If we have the money, why can’t we do what LA is doing?

a thread!!! 1/3chicago public school’s radical youth alliance has come forth with a list of demands that we believe is the bare minimum of things that @ChiPubSchools leadership can implement in response to the crises we have seen in our communities.
The media will have you fearing Black youth by telling you we out here stealing & killing, especially in #Chicago
They won’t say a peep about the structural racism & State violence we experience like poverty, prisons & police.
We cultivate radical #BlackJoy We keep us safe!

@StuStrikeBack@chicagosmayor CPS schools need rapid covid test on site at every location ain’t no way 7 students should be sent home by 9am and school starts at 815. Test em the kids the staff everybody..
From the beginning, #CopsOutCPS always said that CPS had the power to remove police completely from schools. Instead CPS pushed their responsibility onto LSCs. Yet now they are choosing to negotiate with CPD.
Now get these cops out of our schools.
Folks are clear that CPS must use these funds to create support networks for undocumented students and students in temporary living, invest in transformative justice practitioners, cash assistance for families, and technology access for all. #CopsOutCPS
CPS is set to receive $1.8 BILLION in federal dollars. We know that CPS has a track record of being shady with their money from back door deals to approving contracts with cops. It’s time for Chicago Public Schools to listen to youth on how these funds be invested. #CopsOutCPS
