@bellacaledonia The area was expanded at the end of last year but it is still quite limited. Also a shame you can’t go out to Slateford for the Academy.

@bellacaledonia Would be even better if they went all the way out to the park and ride at the airport! Frustrating how limited the area is in Edinburgh just now.
Glasgow’s cycle hire scheme is on a roll and growing fast. In the six months since @voitechnology became the city’s operator:
📈 Rides up 311%
🚲 455,000 trips taken
⏰ 7.29 million minutes ridden
👥 46,000 riders
📍 171 bike stations (up +60)

The collective amnesia / blindness from the Scottish media towards the UK state scandals is quite something: HS2 (>£70bn over budget), Track & Trace (£35bn), COVID scandal (£bns), Expenses scandal (4 MPs & 3 peers jailed). There's a chance that these all passed Kevin McKenna by🤷♂️

The UK is actively involved in this military conflict. We’ve spent more than £100M of UK tax cash over the last 10 years. I didn’t hear about this via our media, but from a taxi driver who had taken a mercenary involved to the airport. The UK media priorities 🤔
This position is utterly ludicrous! In Scotland there have been 2 of these cases - both with people stealing from the independence movement & both have been sent to jail. The UK establishment saw billions embezzled during COVID, yet not one person has had a criminal conviction.
People want devolution because it brings power nearer to them. That is hard to argue with. But the Peter Murrell case shows that devolution makes corruption likelier. In Westminster, it would have been impossible to get away with so much for so long.
MPs are not ethically superior to Scottish MSPs. It is just that, in Westminster’s intensely competitive political and media atmosphere, Murrell-like behaviour could not escape notice.
Think of the relatively minor corruption of Sir Keir Starmer and colleagues by Lord Alli’s suits and wellington boots. This was exposed almost immediately after Labour’s massive 2024 election victory. Public support was at its peak, yet Labour lacked the power to suppress the story.

Throwback 🫠
An awkward clip of Keir Starmer pledging to freeze energy bills under a Labour government has re-emerged on social media as the price cap is set to rocket by 13%
It is simply not the case that 250 people pay 60% of all the income tax in Scotland @SirTomHunter.
This is a false claim that should be corrected. Here’s why 🧵
I have zero interest in the “abandonment” conversation. Celtic won the game and the league.
I have plenty in the fact said game ended because of the antics of supporters. And how on earth we got to this point. Not good enough.
