Our CEO @StuartRivers met with Bishop @pmounstephen, Bishop of Winchester, yesterday to discuss seafarersβ welfare and the need to secure sustainable funding in order to maintain good welfare standards.

Good to be at the @APPMPG tonight.
The focus of the session was on planning reform for port development and road, rail and digital infrastructure
connectivity.
Interesting discussion around the crucial role the planning system plays in unlocking economic growth in UK ports.
WHAT A DAY π ππ π
We welcomed over 30 seafarers to our mobile seafarer centre yesterday in @ABPSouthampton
There was plenty of Christmas cheer as Father Christmas delivered many presents to our fantastic & hard-working #seafarers
No seafarers = no shipping = no shopping
Take 2 π
We are trialling the mobile seafarer centre bus today in @ABPSouthampton with a Christmas twist.
Father Christmas will be giving presents out to #seafarers who are responsible for delivering thousands of gifts and many of whom will be working over the festive period.
Congratulations to our former Deputy Chair, @SandyNairne, who last night was very fittingly presented with the @MNWBUK Award for Services to Seafarers, by @SouthamptonCC Lord Mayor Valerie Laurent, at the MNWB conference at the Harbour Hotel.

Maritime charities like @MNWBUK need to consider seafarer wellbeing in a changing world so that we can respond to welfare needs in a relevant way. Hearing from seafarers is the first step to understanding their needs.
Itβs been a busy weekend of Remembrance events for @MNWBUK because we owe our freedom to those who sacrificed everything. #seafarers#WeWillRememberThem
Today is a day for reflection and remembrance so I pay tribute to my grandfather, William Ross, who was a trawlerman conscripted into the Royal Navy, and my uncle, Norman Rivers, a Lancaster Bomber rear gunner both gave their lives in WWII. #LestWeForget
LEST WE FORGET π
Tonight I will be representing @MNWBUK at the @PoppyLegion Festival of Remembrance @RoyalAlbertHall with MN cadets who will be taking part. Great event but Iβm mindful that many MN seafarers died so that we could be free.

MAKING A GLOBAL DIFFERENCE π₯ π
Yesterday, I was at the @ilo with @MNWBUK chair, Andrew Cassels to share our experience as the UK National Seafarersβ Welfare Board and umbrella charity for maritime welfare. Together with our constituents, we can make a global difference.
Today marks the first step in a NEW study of #seafarer demographics with our call for proposals from researchers who understand #maritimesector. It's nearly 10 years since we last looked at this and we need a more up-to-date picture of seafarers' needs. https://t.co/aDXy3ESnq2
