First light for BEESAT-1 🛰️📷
In the past 2 months, the camera payload of #BEESAT-1 has been successfully commissioned, 15 years after launch. Attitude control is currently limited to the magnetorquers pending reaction wheel tests, but nevertheless we captured some nice images!
„Hacking yourself a satellite - recovering BEESAT-1“ @ #38C3
After the recovery of #BEESAT-1 in September we will present the process of diagnosing, recovering and current state of @TUBerlin first #CubeSat tomorrow at 38th #CCC.

Happy 15th anniversary #BEESAT! Launched in 2009, operated until 2013, recovered in 2024. This morning we successfully powered up the sun sensors and magnetometers for the first time in over 10 years! Telemetry looks good so far as we continue checking the state of the satellite.
#BEESAT (catalog no. 35933), also called BEESAT-1, will operate over Europe on September 23rd 2024 to mark its 15th anniversary during the following times (UTC):
07:26 - 07:40
09:04 - 09:17
20:56 - 21:09
22:33 - 22:47

Last Friday, the final step of an ongoing student-led effort to diagnose and recover the satellite was completed, restoring #BEESAT to an operational state. We will be checking the current status of all subsystems and look forward to recommissioning the satellite.
@StudOps
@TUBerlin's first #CubeSat, #BEESAT, will be celebrating its 15th anniversary in space tomorrow on September 23rd. Launched in 2009, it operated successfully past its design lifetime until an anomaly occurred in 2013, preventing the downlink of telemetry... until a few days ago!
#NanoFF A 🛰️joins its twin satellite NanoFF B as TUBSAT 29 in orbit 🥳 We just had the first contact over our Berlin ground station 📡 Satellite is in good health, antennas are deployed and all subsystem are online. Beacon has now been deactivated to save power.
@TUBerlin
#NanoFF A deployment was delayed until 16:46 UTC, we await first contact over Berlin at 18:57 UTC, new TLEs:

The deployment for #NanoFF A from @D_Orbit's ION spacecraft is now scheduled for Monday, 2024-01-15, at 05:36 UTC. The first contact attempt will start at 08:05 UTC, as the first pass has only 11° elevation a backup pass with 87° is planed for 09:32 UTC.
Today we achieved significant progress in the commissioning of #NanoFF B 🛰️ subsystems in a good pace ⚡️🏆. Thereby generating and downloading GNSS and AOCS data to confirm orbit injection, decreasing angular rates with magnetorquers and improving the communication link .
#NanoFF B operations are continuing great 😀🛰️ Thanks to @pe0sat and @SatNOGS we have decided to follow the new NoradID 58755:
0 NanoFF B

The ejection of #NanoFF A is postponed by at least 24 hours to finish verification of #NanoFF B orbit. This allows us to make minor, last adjustments to the deployment vector of the second satellite. New separation time will be posted here as soon as it has been set.
It's official: We have received first telemetry from #NanoFF B during multiple passes via @TUBspace ground stations earlier today. 📡 Satellite is healthy and has entered service as @TUBerlin's 28th satellite. It now awaits its sister satellite ❤️ - Beacon has been deactivated.
After successful launch 🚀 on the 1st of December, our #NanoFF satellites 🛰️🛰️ will be released soon. NanoFF B will be deployed by @D_Orbit's ION spacecraft on 2024-01-10 at 05:15:30 UTC. NanoFF A is scheduled for deployment on 2024-01-11 at 05:38:40 UTC📡 https://t.co/YkZGemqkK7
