@CollegeofPolice @Humberbeat Right care right person is absolutely the way forward, but I genuinely believe this should be a collaboration so that all parties feel the benefit (Subject, Police and MH services).

@CollegeofPolice @Humberbeat Understandably, given the consequences should a person come to serious harm post contact with police. We need the support of MH services to make an informed decision if we attend MH incidents. From experience, a phone call to MH teams is not good enough.

@CollegeofPolice @Humberbeat Reducing the number of 136's leads to a reduction in time both MH and police services spend with an individual, who potentially could have been dealt with in a less restrictive manner as the MHA states, potentially leading to better support and engagement with that subject.

@CollegeofPolice @Humberbeat The onus is still placed on the attending officer to potentially put their career at risk making the decision, which likely ends in a 136 to reduce that risk. More training wouldnt solve this. Having properly educated MH workers supporting officers would, as the studies show.

@JJSharpers @AnotherBlank12 Vent away bud. Last week i claiming I'd be leaving as soon as I finish the degree because of forced moves. At the time, i probably meant it, but I'd likely never follow through with the threat. You're allowed to feel disappointed. Doesnt mean you wont put the effort into the role

@BustingCrimes Ive found the only time that comes about is usually at the receiving end of a snotty email after doing something wrong, which is a really shitty and daunting way of learning.
I dont believe it is the fault of the supervision either, theyre simply not afforded the time needed.

@BustingCrimes Something I've found really odd about police supervision since joining is that they dont seem to have the time provided to them to help improve an officer at a 1-1 level. There isnt the time to dig into an individuals work and pull out areas they can improve constructively

@DCKayPol I appreciate all of the roles within policing for what they are, I just know I dont enjoy the more office heavy workstyle. I'll get stuck in and crack on, just can't help but feel a little disappointed. But, as you say, the experience will be good. Every cloud and all that 👍

@TheMETsProbie I enjoyed my attachment in there and was greatful for the experience it gave, but i was glad to get back out. The thought of being put back in permanently fills me woth dread though. I shouldn't moan, they did state we would be put wherever needed during recruitment.
