We are a group of 3rd year Ed Studies students in a Work Placement Bubble, sharing our thoughts on the Ed Studies course at Marino Institute of Education!
I completed my work placement in both
@Trav_Act
and
@ddletbYR
. I loved putting theory from lectures into practice and experimenting in diverse educational roles. I would recommend these organisations to anybody interested check them out! #ThisIsEdStudies
Hi guys! My name is Sophia and I am in 3rd year of Ed Studies. This course has broadened my outlook on education and highlighted the many career opportunities in the Irish Education system, beyond primary or second level teaching. #ThisIsEdStudies
@MarinoInstitute is such a great place to study, with lovely gardens, buildings, quiet places to study, friendly people, and great lecturers. Because it's small, people get to know each other and lecturers know the students. At Marino, you're not just a number. #ThisIsEdStudies
I have gone to the Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture (@TeagascHortNBG) in 1st, the Youth Advocate Programmes Ireland (@YAPIreland) in 2nd year, and an online bubble placement in which we completed an awareness project this year due to the pandemic.

This allows us to understand the importance of #lifelonglearning. Along with the modules, we do two weeks of work experience in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year.
#ThisIsEdStudies
We learn about many different types of education and development from technology to psychology. We get a range of modules, with a different focus each year; Adult Ed in 1st year, Adolescence Ed in 2nd year, Childhood Ed in 3rd year, and an internship in 4th year.

Hi there, my name is Erin! This is my experience in Ed Studies.
Although I initially wanted to go into the B. Ed. I am so glad I got into this course instead, so far it has given me the chance to see education in a whole new way!

Some aspects that I have particularly enjoyed throughout my Ed. Studies experience:
- Small Class sizes
- Easy access to help and support from lecturers and college staff
- Varying areas of study - Adult, Adolescent & Childhood Education
- Our Marino campus & friendly students
Hi guys, my name is Eimear. I decided to choose the Ed. Studies course as I was keen to gain a broader understanding of Education as a whole, not just at Primary level. I have completed my placements in @IMMAIreland and @EnableIreland so far and loved them both! #ThisisEdStudies
5/5 Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far at the college and there is no doubt in my mind I will continue to do so throughout the rest of my degree.

1/5 The Ed Studies programme offered by Marino is without a doubt beneficial to those wanting to study education, as it covers a lot of material that can prove beneficial to a student wanting to go into the education field but not knowing where to begin.
4/5 Furthermore, they are more than welcoming of proofing assignments ahead of the submission date to ensure that students can work on the critic given and be able to achieve the highest grade possible.
Welcome to our Twitter Page. We are a group of four 3rd Year students studying in the Ed Studies course in Marino Institute of Education. This year our course focuses on childhood education. For this reason we decided to do our WP project on DEIS primary schools. #ThisisEdStudies
