@pedrosmarks @RudyHuyn The new "Photos Viewer" is WinUI, but the previously native gallery is now replaced with "Photos" which is a full web app, the editor that opens from the new web app gallery is also a web app, and not the native "Photos Viewer" they introduced with this.

@RudyHuyn Improving the photo viewer while boasting it is now native, yet simultaneously replacing the gallery with a web app that doesn't at all fit in with the rest of Windows and doesn't even use the now native Editor, but instead a webview. What was wrong with the previous gallery?

Rebuilt the editor with Win UI 3...

...but the gallery itself is now a separate web app and you're flipping between 2 entirely different apps to do what previously could be done in one.

This has got to be a joke.

Windows 11 is getting an inbox Auto Dark Mode feature! Recent Experimental 26xxx builds include various strings for it, you can set sunset to sunrise or fixed hours and have the mode only change when the PC is idle. Strings below:

I'm taking back all my criticisms about Microsoft's lacking Fluent Design documentation.

Celebrating small wins is hardwired into "Achieve," our goal-tracking sample app.

We wanted the simple act of checking off a task to feel like a celebration. Instead of the standard #Material ripple, we used Styles to drop in a custom, high-contrast completion animation—specifically, a brand-colored ring that expands and fades on tap, paired with a subtle pressed-state gradient.

It lets us focus entirely on polishing those custom, rewarding micro-interactions while Material handles the foundation.

On it's own, I guess this is pretty well done...

...but as part of a larger website? I really don't get what Microsoft is doing. Every section - hell, even across pages within the same section - Microsoft's website changes design again and again. It's ridiculously inconsistent.
