@kerryBiss Hi Kerry. I’m so sorry to hear about your mum. Really pleased you found me here and sent me this. Making this piano record definitely helped me after I lost my mum. Hope you are doing ok. x
Track 7 | Lament
This piece was written after my mum died a couple of years ago,
Looking back I can see it changed something in me.
One of the last things she said to me was that it was all about, ‘learning to let go’
So here I am, writing this, trying to do just that.
Track 10 | I Hear You, I’m Listening
‘I owe the title to @naomiyoga after hearing her use the phrase in one of her classes.
When I got home I immediately sat down at the piano and this piece came out pretty much fully formed, and knew it had to be called this.’
Track 8 | Cadence
‘I’d read about the benefits of running around 180 steps per minutes and with a metronome;
But I found the click pulled me out of the run.
I wanted to write a piece that could inform this pace, but still allow me to lose myself in the run.’
#GlobalRunningDay
I’m delighted that Calm have chosen to feature my album ’Still Life’ in full, in the the music section of their app.
For those of you who have the app, simply search for ‘Still Life’.
Track 5 | Who We Used to Be
“..a particular moment, seeing something in someone else that reminded me of who we both used to be;
In the most brilliant way, that even after all this time, everything we were, everything we used to be when we first met, was all still there.”
