It was great to get out and do something other than development for the day, so I'd โค๏ธ to know what you do to relax and break up the day job? So what do you do?

Yesterday I took some time to myself and to indulge in some photography. I love cars and bikes and decided to go into some dealerships and snap away!
Got to say the people in @UKTriumph were great.
This was my fave of the day. Loved the engineering and the lines (I'm sorry I'm not a bike person yet so no idea what this actually is!). The gold components really popped and I loved this shot.
I'm now in a place where I can take my foot off the gas when I need to which is a luxury to have.
What advice would you tell a younger version of yourself?
(Also, I still need to work on liking myself in photos!)

This is me in NYC back in 2007. It's a very rare pic as I'm missing any facial hair of any kind. I hate the way I look in this photo, despite it being a decent one!
Back then I was working for an agency, I didn't own my own house and I worked a lot! I ๐ฏ needed that holiday.
If you're willing to put the time and effort in, then you can achieve those goals. Whether it's at work, in the gym, in a new hobby or sport then there's no substitute for getting stuck in.
It's probably a midlife crisis but with the launch of awesome electric bikes (including the Harley Livewire which is the dream) I figured I'd have a go!
What's something new that you're learning this year?

In a couple of weeks I'm going to be doing my motorbike CBT.
I've always placed an emphasis on learning something new every year because in web development we're always learning so I don't want my personal life to become boring and monotonous either.
Over the years I've learned to ๐ snowboard, ๐ธplay bass guitar, play guitar, ๐ฝvideo editing, ๐ฅ MMA, ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ CrossFit, ๐ดโโ๏ธ learned to ride a bicycle etc so I like to try new skills and activities.
So why a motorbike and why now?
"He's thorough and thoughtful โ and a thoroughly nice guy."
I love this quote from a client. My strengths lie in my attention to detail, good communication and ability to ask the right questions. So the above quote sums that up perfectly.
โHow would your clients describe you?
I'm doing a talk on Thursday at a local meetup for Front End developers. It'll be my first one since the pandemic and my first one since starting my business. AND IT'S SOLD OUT. No pressure then! ๐ฒ
I'm sharing the story of setting up my business and my tips for creatives going freelance.
If you were to add a tip to my talk, what would it be? What's a really important piece of advice to prospective freelancers?

It's amazing how much things have changed in that time. I even have a dog now (though for those attending, she won't be unfortunately).
I'm grateful to @amyvbenson, @katie_fenn, @chicgeek and @devolute for giving me the opportunity to speak.
