If you want to avoid being replaced, stop worrying about which skills will be relevant 20 years from now.

Nobody has a single clue what those are going to be. The world is changing so rapidly that you can’t even imagine what skills will be valuable in the future.

Instead, you need to learn how to learn fast, because if you can become effective at any skill quicker than other people, it doesn’t matter what skill you learn.

But that isn’t something you just sit down and study. You must step into the arena. You must learn by doing. You must build your own thing. Your own project. Your own product. Then you must share it with others to determine whether it’s valuable or not.

Why? Because that forces you to learn efficiently. Everything you learn is directly applied to a meaningful project that allows you to not be dependent on an employer that requires you to learn a single skill that they will replace as soon as they can.
