🇪🇺🇷🇺 “Europe is still buying Russian energy.”
Another lie to hide the disgrace of the US-Russia deal.
🔸 Russian gas fell from 45% to 13% of EU gas imports.
🔸 Russian oil fell from 27% to 3%, while coal dropped from 50% to 0%.
🔸Europe faced a historic energy crisis to end Russian dependence.
The current energy crisis has everything to do with the poorly planned and miscalculated war in Iran.
Everyone knows it, and no amount of propaganda will change that.
Montenegro has closed three more negotiating chapters: Economic and Monetary Policy, Statistics, and Social Policy and Employment.
Reforms under these chapters will help keep prices stable, give governments accurate data to make better decisions, and strengthen workers’ rights and safety at work.
Close to two thirds of all chapters are now closed. The finish line is within reach.
All political forces, in government and opposition, have a responsibility to put the interests of Montenegrins first, work together and deliver the remaining reforms without delay.
I welcome today’s decision by EU Member States to open two further negotiation clusters with Ukraine and Moldova. We look forward to opening all remaining clusters as soon as possible.
I also welcome the decision to close three additional negotiating chapters with Montenegro and one with Albania.
EU enlargement continues to advance, driven by reforms in candidate countries and the EU’s strong commitment.
Your future lies in the EU. Let’s keep up the momentum!
EU capitals must be able to intervene to stop new legislation from Brussels if they say it’s too burdensome for governments and businesses, the leaders of Germany, Italy and Belgium wrote on Monday.

Today we take a meaningful step towards a more complete Union.
I welcome the decision to close three additional negotiating chapters with Montenegro and one more with Albania.
This is thanks to the hard work of both countries.
And the remarkable European spirit of their people.
Pro-European leaders in the European Parliament reject the Irish Presidency's MFF proposal.
A 10% smaller EU budget undermines Europe's ability to deliver for citizens facing rising living and energy costs.
No more cuts!
Europe cannot do more with less.
On 31 August 2026 4.43 million non-EU citizens who fled Ukraine had temporary protection status in the EU.🛂
EU countries with the most temporary protection beneficiaries:
🇩🇪Germany (1 294 555 people; 29.2% of EU total)
🇵🇱Poland (939 395; 21.2%)

Everyone knows Silicon Valley.
But how many people know about Eindhoven, Stuttgart, Grenoble or the Basque industrial cluster?
Europe is home to some of the world's most advanced industrial ecosystems.
Yet the world barely knows their names.
Europe has a storytelling problem.
Big cuts to the EU budget largely hitting global cooperation and competitiveness — two points Brussels has spent three years arguing are essential to strengthening the EU’s position in an increasingly fragmented world and its economy alongside the Draghi report. Some serious cognitive dissonance, in the name of appeasing the frugals.

🇪🇺 Europe is negotiating its next 7-year budget.
Ireland's new draft cuts €141B from the Commission's proposal.
Competitiveness & security: -13%
Cohesion/agriculture heading: -3.4%
Europe's priorities are being tested in euros, not speeches.
Yet another EU government reintroducing border controls by invoking Ceuta as “threat” justifying its checks. The threat is manifestly inexistent as no secondary movements exist.
After Italy, Spain and Austria got a free pass from @magnusbrunner more governments contribute to dismantle Schengen.
Europe has spent decades building national railway networks.
Now comes the difficult part: making them work as one.
Only around 10% of the trans-European rail network has ERTMS.
Estimated investment needed: €75–85 billion.
Europe's railway integration is far from finished.
NATO is seeking to reassure Russia that an upcoming nuclear drill in Italy is nothing to fear, with tensions high between the alliance and Moscow.

🇪🇺 Europe must weaponise the Single Market
This is how we crush Moscow’s grip on the East
🔸Armenia is gaining tariff-free EU access as it moves closer to Europe and away from Russia.
🔸 Apply this strategy across Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
🔸 In return, demand a clear reduction in dependence on Russian imports
🔸 The EU is already the leading trade partner for most of Russia’s neighbours
We must widen that lead.
Weaken Russia, secure critical raw materials and build unrivalled trade power.
The EU's carbon border tax was designed to prevent companies from shifting production abroad to countries with weaker environmental rules — but the US says it amounts to a discriminatory trade rule. #EuropeNews

🚨 Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez has called a snap election for Nov. 29.
The vote could signal the demise of the EU’s last major Socialist government and remove one of Europe’s chief critics of Donald Trump from the political front line.
